. About Me
I’m Jafar Sabaouni, a Full-Stack Developer. I mainly work with React on the frontend and .NET or NestJS on the backend. I tend to prefer .NET because of personal preference, its support, and ecosystem.
I like understanding how things work under the hood instead of blindly relying on abstractions. Whether it’s software architecture, system design, authentication, or building AI agent harnesses, I enjoy digging into the details and figuring out how the pieces fit together. Security is something I consider throughout development, not something I bolt on at the end.
. Projects

. Orbicus: Building a Decoupled AI Agent Harness
A deep dive into building an agent harness from scratch. Features an isolated TCP core that powers a desktop app, a VS Code extension, and a CLI simultaneously.
. Screens on Set
A digital screen control platform used across film productions, interactive kiosks, digital signage, and presentations. Contributed as a developer to the platform and the system behind it.

. Building CampusOne: Turning a Mockup Into a Full-Stack AI Ecosystem
A 30-hour sprint from a school assignment to a functional AI study platform with tool-using agents, structured execution APIs, and a scalable architecture.
. Opinions & Takes
“Agents don't need an identity.”
Forcing fake human personas like "you are a senior engineer" is pointless. An agent is just a task, deterministic tool schemas, and access to the right knowledge. Give it well-structured skills and clean MCP plugins—it will do the job reliably without needing a fictional job title.
“Architecture is about the problems you prevent.”
Good architecture isn't just neat folder structures. It's about keeping systems easy to change, cutting out useless complexity, and killing entire categories of bugs before they can even happen. The best decisions are invisible because the fires they prevented never existed.
“Stop putting borders on everything.”
A border shouldn't be the default way to separate a card. The only time a border actually looks right is when a container shares the exact same background as its parent. Otherwise, drop the borders and let surface contrast, squircle curves, and spacing do the work.
“Not everything needs a package.”
Every dependency brings maintenance debt, build weight, and security risks. Beyond frameworks and essential SDKs, don't install an npm package for something you can write in 15 lines of clean code. If you can build it simply yourself, build it.
